Joao Pedro is set to miss Albion’s game at Chelsea.

The Brazil forward suffered an ankle injury when fouled by Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White.

There is no detail as to when he could return but Fabian Huerzeler indicated this morning that it will not be a long-term absence.

In his Thursday morning press conference, head coach Huerzeler said: “For me, this tackle, you can see it on TV but you have to see it on the pitch how hard it was, in which dynamic it was

" The TV can’t give you the right dynamic of what happens in real life. It was a hard tackle for me.

“Of course, Joao had some problems after the game. He still has some problems.

“We have to go week by week with him but I don’t think he will be an option for the weekend.

“Then we have to keep looking. I am not sure how long he will be out.

“I think Joao is a good healer and I am convinced he will back soon.

“But with this player we can’t take risks.

“We all know he is a player who can make a difference for us but we also have several other good options.

“We try to replace him as well as we can and give him a good rehab and I am sure he won’t be out for so long, hopefully.”
