Tymal Mills said his Sussex side were brilliant as they reached Vitality Blast Finals Day.
Sharks hammered Lancashire by eight wickets with 35 balls to spare before a euphoric sell-out crowd at Hove.
They were on top from the very first ball as Ollie Robinson clean bowled Lightning dangerman Phil Salt, back on his old home ground.
Lancashire were bowled out for 114 in 15.3 overs and Sussex reached their victory target with 35 balls to spare.
Skipper Mills said: "We were brilliant all the way through really.
“We have been pretty poor in T20 cricket in the last couple of years so we made a big effort in the winter to identify where we need to improve, so credit to all the players and the coaching staff, whose work has paid off.
“We now go to the Finals Day and I think we've got a good chance."
Robinson took 2-27 from his four overs and stuck a killer blow when he ran out Liam Livingstone with a direct hit from short third when his 43 off 35 balls was offering Lancashire a glimmer of hope.
Brad Currie took 2-16 off two overs and Jofra Archer 2-20 in his 21 balls.
James Coles (2-9 off two overs) and Jack Carson (1-3 off one) maintained the pressure.
Mills said: "Ollie Robinson and Brad Currie were outstanding with the new ball and they set the tone tonight and then Ollie ran out Liam Livingstone which was obviously a huge moment.
“Livi was striking it really well and Ollie did brilliantly to run him out.
“It's been a few years since Jofra Archer played T20 for us and it was great for the crowd, even if it was only for one game.
“It certainly made my life easier knowing I had him up my sleeve.
“Our young batters then got the job done in as really calm way - it's been a really good night overall."
Harrison Ward set the early pace in the reply with 27 of an opening stand worth 39.
Daniel Hughes made 35 and Coles, who was named man-of-the-match, went through the gears on his way to 27 not out off 26.
