Paul Farbrace has told Sussex to seize the moment on their big T20 night at Hove.

Sharks host Lancashire in the Vitality Blast quarter-finals at the 1st Central County Ground this evening (7pm).

The visiting batting line-up is led by former Hove favourite Phil Salt while Luke Wells will be a potential threat to his old club.

But Sussex have a potentially lethal pace attack in Jofra Archer, Ollie Robinson and skipper Tymal Mills while Daniel Hughes is the leading run-scorer in the competition.

Sussex coach Farbrace said: “Our motivation quite simply is to want to win every game that we play.

“We have been very un-English and said we want to win, we want to beat teams.

“That is why we are into the quarter-finals and one game from Finals Day.

“Every county cricketer wants to be involved in Finals Day.

“Whether we get there or not, we have given ourselves the best chance.

“It’s fantastic it is at home because from a finance point of view it helps the club enormously.

“And it gives our home supporters and members the chance to watch a really big game.

“Bringing the likes of Saqib Mahmood, Phil Salt and Liam Livingstone to Hove is magnificent for our supporters.

“Rather than being fazed by that, let’s embrace it.”

England skipper Jos Buttler has been ruled out for Lancashire by a calf injury.

The 15-man squad named by Sussex includes Harrison Ward and Brad Currie, who have signed contract extensions of two years and one year respectively.

The game is a sell-out and is being shown live on Sky Sports.
