Danny Cashman scored an “outrageous” 80-yard goal to secure a dramatic away win for Worthing.

The former Albion youngster led a counter-attack to secure a 2-1 success at much-fancied Borehamwood in Vanarama National League south.

It was their second away win in three days, and third in total this season, as they prepare for their long-awaited return home.

Cashman picked up possession on the edge of his own box and ran at the home defence.

He combined with Harrison Smith before cutting on to his left foot and guiding a precise finish low past the keeper on 86 minutes.

Rebels boss Chris Agutter said: “It is one of the best goals I have seen live – outrageous. An incredible goal.”

Worthing have started the season with six away games due to major improvement work at the Sussex Transport Community Stadium.

They return to their Woodside Road base to face Hornchurch on Saturday – their first home game since the promotion play-off final at the end of last season.

Temi Babalola put Worthing ahead before Lee Ndlovu levelled.
