Jan Paul van Hecke says Holland have an array of talent at centre-back.
Which makes his first international call-up an even prouder moment.
The Albion centre-back has been called into the group for the UEFA Nations League matches against Bosnia-Herzegovina and Germany.
He replaces Micky van de Ven, who is struggling with the aftermath of an injury Van Hecke spoke of his pride at being named in the provisional squad recently.
Van Hecke said at that stage: “I'm really happy that I'm now in the professional squad so I know they're looking to me now.
“And I think last season was really good and I had a good level.
“So I think I can be in there. But it's not really my decision. When you see the names, they are good players but I think I am as well.
“Hopefully I get a call-up and then I would be really proud.”
Van Hecke’s uncle Jan Poortvliet played for the Netherlands on 19 occasions, including the 1978 World Cup final in Argentina.
