Valentin Barco has revealed he spoke to Ansu Fati before signing for Sevilla.

The Argentinean left-back is on loan for the season and could make his debut against Girona on Sunday.

He spoke to Barcelona forward Ansu, who was on loan with the Seagulls last season, for some inside information on Sevilla.

Barco said today: "They treated me very well from the beginning.

“I opted for Sevilla because I really liked the project. I liked what (sporting director) Victor Orta said in the meeting.

“I spoke with Ansu Fati and he spoke very well of this club and the city.

“I also spoke with Argentine colleagues who advised me to come.

“I am going to give everything so that Sevilla returns to what it was."

Sevilla have fielded the experienced Adria Pedrosa at left-back in their early games this season.

Barco would love to get a first chance to shine for his new club, who have opened with two draws and a home defeat to Villarreal.

He said: "I am ready to play, but that will depend on the manager.

“I play on the entire left wing, I feel comfortable in all positions."
