Another of Albion's young new signings is heading to the Championship.

Amario Cozier-Duberry is joining Blackburn Rovers on a season-long loan, the club has confirmed.

Cozier-Duberry, a former Arsenal Under-21 player, will link up with Rovers and could be in line to play in their Lancashire derby match against Burnley tomorrow.

Fabian Huerzeler says the youngster has “impressed in pre-season” and will continue his development in the Championship.

The 19-year-old signed a four-year contract in July after leaving the Gunners.

Huerzeler said: “Amario impressed in pre-season while with the senior squad, and he has a lot of potential.

“This is a great opportunity for him to play at Blackburn and we all wish him well.

“Alongside Gordon Greer, our pathway development manager, we are now looking forward to watching his progress during the season.”

Cozier-Duberry scored 13 goals and assisted five more for Arsenal’s Under-21s last year and was named on the bench for the first team in their Carabao Cup tie against Brentford and in the Champions League against Sevilla.

The move continues a strong relationship between Albion and Blackburn after first team players Jan Paul Van Hecke and Yasin Ayari spent time on loan at Ewood Park in recent seasons. Andrew Moran also spent time at the Championship outfit.

Blackburn are due to face Burnley in a Lancashire derby tomorrow.
