Brighton will face Wolverhampton Wanderers in the third round of the Carabao Cup.
Albion drew Wolves at the Amex after beating Crawley in the second round on Tuesday night.
The games will be played in the weeks commencing September 16 and 23 under a new format.
Albion comfortably saw off Crawley 4-0 but lost new signing Matt O’Riley in the opening minutes to an apparent ankle injury.
Wolves progressed after beating recently relegated Burnley in the second round.
Games in the third round will be split over two week for the first time due to changes to the Champions League and Europa League.
The six teams who have already qualified for the competitions were drawn separately in a “pre-draw” so that they could not face each other.
The draw took place immediately after Newcastle beat Nottingham Forest on penalties.
