Worthing boss Chris Agutter said his side were “butchered on the counter” in their tough 5-0 loss to Truro.
Three goals in a “mental” ten minutes at the beginning of the second half saw Worthing falling to their first loss of the season in emphatic fashion.
But Agutter said there were positives to take from the game and the club would reflect on what they got wrong tactically before they head to Hampton and Richmond this weekend.
He said: “It was a mental ten minutes. We tweaked a couple of things which left us wide open to a counterattack and we got butchered on the counter.
“Unlike on Saturday [Worthing’s 1-1 draw with Hemel Hempstead], where we were incredibly patient and we kept doing us, today we were just really emotional and chased the scoreline.
“I think we have to take one from a staff perspective. We probably got team selection wrong, tactically we made a couple of adjustments at half time and it killed us.
“I can’t criticise the players too much it has been a tough four games and a tough turn around.
“We weren’t creating enough and that’s still an area we need to address. We lack a bit of cutting edge.
“We’ll take the positives out of today and take the negatives on the chin and move forwards.
“We’re four games in and there is another 50 plus games to go. I’m not too stressed. The important thing is we look at the positive aspects of the game.”
The loss against Truro marks the first of the new campaign where Worthing have won one from four games, all away from home.
