Albion have signed double WSL champion Jelena Cankovic from Chelsea.
The Serbia international midfielder, 29, arrives after two seasons with the Blues, for whom she played 38 times.
Head coach Dario Vidosic said: “We’re delighted to bring a player of Jelena’s pedigree and experience to the club.
“She has already achieved so much in her career but is ready for a new chapter and excited by this challenge. Her experience and knowledge will be important in helping our squad grow and I am looking forward to working with her.”
Cankovic plays in attacking role from midfield and is a regular for her national team.
She arrives four weeks from the league opener, which sees Albion meet Everton at the Broadfield Stadium on September 21 (2.30pm).
Albion continued their build-up to the new campaign with a 4-0 friendly win over Portsmouth.
Fran Kirby, Aisha Masaka, Li Mengwen and Grace McEwen were on target.
Vidosic said: "We've only been together a short time implementing new ideas and the players were able to bring a lot of that against Portsmouth."
