Albion fans who made the long journey to Merseyside came home delighted after a near-perfect start to their Premier League campaign put them top of the league.
Brighton supporters were rewarded after the long wait for the start of the new season and the 540-mile round trip to Everton with a 3-0 win against the Toffees.
The big win marks a dream start for new boss Fabian Hurzeler as some of the Seagulls’ newest signings made an impact with impressive performances.
Fans were all smiles while donning Albion’s new away kit for the first day out of the new season.
Italian flags emblazoned with the Brighton crest were replaced with German flags after Hurzeler took the reins following Roberto De Zerbi’s departure at the end of last season.
New signings Yakub Minteh and Mats Wieffer both bagged assists on their league debuts.
But winger Minteh’s first Premier League appearance was cut short when he was subbed off for a concussion shortly before half time.
Fans made the long trip back from the North West with Albion top of the table to cap off the first Saturday of the new season.
The day will also likely mark Albion’s last visit to Goodison Park as Everton are set to move into their new ground next season.
Hurzeler will be greeted at The Amex for his first Premier League game in front of a home crowd next Saturday when Albion face Manchester United in the early kick off.
