Fabian Huerzeler is confident Yankuba Minteh does not face a lay-off.
The Albion winger looked unhappy to be substituted late in the first half at Everton.
He was replaced by Simon Adingra in what was a concussion substitution.
Minteh clearly felt he could continue as he was treated by medical staff including Albion doctor Florian Pfab.
Seagulls boss Huerzeler said: “He was disappointed but we are responsible for a player and won’t take any risks.
“This is why we made this decision.
“The health of the player is always more important than any win in any game.
“We have to keep looking at him, how he reacts now, but I am quite confident he will be back next week.”
Minteh was hurt as he tracked back attentively to make an important challenge on Vitalii Mykalenko.
He also teed up the opening goal for Kaoru Mitoma.
Huerzeler said: “He made a great impact of course but again for me I judge my offensive players on how they react against the ball.”
“He did quite good today.
“You saw already in pre-season, you see it every day in training.
“If you work hard, if you try to improve every, you try to win the day and be the best you can every day, then it will pay off.
“It’s not like I was surprised he had this performance because I saw it in pre-season and that is just the confirmation.”
