Paul Farbrace believes England are eyeing three Sussex players who have signed new deals.

Tom Alsop, Jack Carson and James Coles have all agreed contract extensions at Hove.

Their commitment at the club now runs until at least the end of the 2027 season.

Sussex are preparing for a big finish to the campaign in both the Vitality County Championship and the T20 Blast.

Farbrace said: “We are all really pleased that these three players have chosen to extend their contracts with the club.

“They are all players we want to build the team around for the next few years.

“They are all very talented, hard-working players who also bring a lot to the team and club in general.

“All three are very popular people who always put the team first.

“Tommy and James have both been selected in the Hundred this year, which shows how highly they are rated in the game, and I expect all three to figure in the England Lions thoughts this coming winter.”

Alsop joined Sussex on a season-long loan from Hampshire in the spring of 2022 but signed permanently later that year after making an immediate impact across all formats.

He has scored 2,222 first-class runs for Sussex at an average of 39.33 and has made 12 half-centuries and six centuries, as well as valuable contributions in white-ball cricket.

Carson made his first-team debut for Sussex in the 2020 Bob Willis Trophy, taking a wicket with his second ball.

Coles, like Carson, is an off-spinning all-rounder who rose through the Sussex ranks at a young age, making his debut at the age of 16 in the Bob Willis Trophy.
