Pervis Estupinan has given an upbeat message from the training ground ahead of the coming season.

The Ecuador left-back posted a photo of himself in action during a training session two days out from the Premier League kick-off at Everton.

He wrote: “Just in time. Happy to be back.”

Jeremy Sarmiento, Moises Caicedo and Julio Enciso were among those who showed their support via social media.

Estupinan suffered an injury-interrupted 2024-25 season, although he had a brief return to prominence in mid-campaign with spectacular goals against Tottenham and Stoke City.

As well as an exciting league season, Estupinan could also target international dates against Brazil and Peru in September.

Speaking on Thursday morning, head coach Fabian Huerzeler said: “There are quite a few players who came back this week.

“I can't say if they are already ready for the first game at Everton.

“Pervis is back on the pitch, Tariq [Lamptey] is back on the pitch, [Evan] Ferguson will be too.

“So it’s great news, but I'm not sure if they're ready for the first match.

“I think that the squad who played against Villarreal, all of them should be ready.”
