Leeds boss Daniel Farke has revealed Albion target Georginio Rutter has said his goodbyes.
He expects the French forward to leave in the next day or two.
Farke said the possibility of Rutter leaving became clear yesterday as his side prepared to face Middlesbrough in the Carabao Cup.
He told a press conference today: “This morning it was pretty emotional because he has more or less said goodbye.
“I can’t confirm anything yet because it is just done when it is done and all is signed.
“He has said goodbye in a pretty emotional way to each and every staff member, to each and every of his team-mates.
“I expect in the next 24 to 48 hours it will be confirmed officially.
“At the moment I am pretty sure we will be without him from today.”
Albion triggered a clause allowing them sign Rutter for £40 million.
Farke added: “We wanted to keep Georgey Rutter and tried everything in order to do this but a contract is a contract.”
