Fabian Huerzeler welcomed back two of his “leaders” as Albion close in on Premier League action.

Lewis Dunk and Joao Pedro both played the opening half of the 4-0 friendly win over Villarreal.

Dunk has returned from a relatively brief holiday after Euro 2024 while Joao Pedro, who opened the scoring with a fine strike, had been injured.

Head coach Huerzeler, whose side go to Everton on Saturday, told The Argus: “Lewis came back really strong after his holiday.

“Also, Joao Pedro. You see that they are both really professional in terms of preparation, in terms of rehabilitation.

“That is a very positive thing because in the end these players are leaders and we need them on the pitch.”
