Albion have agreed deals with two of their WSL players.

Charlie Rule has signed a new contract with the club.

The Australian defender is well known to head coach Dario Vidosic from their days in the A-League.

Today’s announcement follows confirmation that Dejana Stefanovic is staying with the club.

The Serbia midfielder was out of contract this summer but the fact she would be staying had become clear as she returned for pre-season training this week.

Preparations are well under way for the new WSL campaign, which starts at home to Everton on September 21.

Vidosic said: “We’re excited that Charlie has committed her future to the club.

“I’ve seen her play during my time coaching in the A-League in Australia before she joined Brighton last summer.

"It was unfortunate for her to miss the end of last season but she’s a talented young player with a bright future in this team. I’m looking forward to working with her this season.”

Stefanovic made her WSL debut for Albion in January 2023 against Leicester City, which was Jens Scheuer’s first game in charge, but has made only eight appearances for the club.

She returned from injury late last season and offered signs of what she can add to midfield.

Vidosic said: “We’re pleased that Dejana has extended her stay with us at Brighton.

“Although we’ve not worked together that long, her level of determination and ambition to succeed is apparent.

“She’s had a difficult start to her career at the club due to injury, but I’m excited to work with her this season ahead as she looks to progress.”
