Amber Anning is through to the Olympic 400 metres final.
The Brighton and Hove athlete progressed with Poland's Natalia Kaczmarek as they took charge of their semi-final this evening.
Anning posted a personal best 49.47 seconds in the last of three semis.
The 23-year-old, who had already anchored Great Britain to a mixed 4×400 metres relay bronze, battled Kaczmarek all the way to the finish and crossed two hundredths of a second behind her Polish challenger.
The final is on Friday.
