Feyenoord were today confident of clinching a loan deal for Facundo Buonanotte, according to sources in Holland.

The Argentinian midfielder or wideman is among a host of players Fabian Huerzeler has in that area of his squad.

He is keen to improve on his efforts last season and recently told The Argus: “I went from less to more. I think I ended it well, playing games.

“But I expect a lot more of myself next season.

“I can give treble what I did last season.

“I can always improve in everything, be it collective or individual.”

Feyenoord are urgently looking to build for the coming Eredivisie campaign in a tough summer which saw them thumped 5-0 by Benfica in a friendly last weekend.

They have lost head coach Arne Slot to Liverpool while key players from last season Mats Wieffer and Yankuba Minteh are both now with Albion.

Albion have an array of attacking players and last season’s top-scorer Joao Pedro is now back in training with the squad after missing the recent trip to Japan.
