Albion will throw the doors open today with plenty of work still to do before the start of their 2024-25 Premier League campaign.

The squad will train in front of fans at the Prince Chichibu Stadium on the eve of their second Japanese friendly.

They take on Tokyo Verdy on Sunday evening, or 10.30am BST.

Head coach Fabian Huerzeler is fine-tuning tactical details after hard work on the training pitch.

He saw his side beat Kashima Antlers 5-1 on Wednesday and was pleased with the scoring chances created.

Huerzeler said: “I think it is always important to create and we did it quite well.

“And this was in the second half better.

“In general, it is most important to find a mix between attracting the opponent so we find space behind them or waiting for them to come out.

“If we can’t attract them, then to shift and try to create a numerical advantage.

“We are still working, we focus on the process.

“At the moment it can’t be everything perfect, but that is why we are here.”

Albion have sold about 3,000 tickets for the session.

Their 24-year-old Dutch midfielder Mats Wieffer will be hoping to move closer to a first run-out after his recovery from a thigh injury.

It is understood there remains contact between Albion and Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund about Pascal Gross, but he is not a player the Seagulls want to see go.
