Valentin Barco wants to play a big part for Albion - and work his way back into the Argentina squad.

The youngster signed from Boca Juniors last term played at left-back in the final win over Kashima Antlers.

His set-piece delivery was pinpoint as he helped set up a goal from a corner for Jeremy Sarmiento.

And he was also involved in the first of Amario Cozier-Duberry's double before going close himself.

Barco, who played the second half of the 5-1 win, said: "We felt very good as a team.

"We have been working very hard all pre-season to arrive in good shape.

"We have new ideas which are being introduced by our new coach, who is really very good.

"We will keep improving."

Asked his goals for the comig campaign, he said: "I hope to have a lot of games this season and to bring a lot to the team.

"Personally speaking, I hope to return to the Argentina squad."

Barco is enjoying the current rip, adding: "Japan is very beautiful, Tokyo as well. I really like the culture.

"I have already been here, in 2019 and it is a beautiful country."
