Billy Gilmour could be set for a move to Serie A.

Albion have knocked back an £8 million bid from Napoli for the Scotland midfielder.

But that is not likely to be an end of the matter.

White Gilmour is rated rather as more valuable than that by the Seagulls, Napoli are expected to continue their pursuit of him.

Gilmour is with the Albion players currently training in the soaring temperatures and stifling humidity of Tokyo.

The squad are working hard but avoiding the hottest part of the day as they step up work towards the coming season under Fabian Huerzeler.

Midfield options also include Yasin Ayari, who was on loan at Blackburn last season, and Malick Yalcoure while much focus will be on Dutch international Mats Wieffer.

The latter plays the deep-lying midfield role which Gilmour had to fill last term.
