Joao Pedro will miss Albion’s trip to Japan.
The Brazilian striker is among players staying in Lancing for rehab on injuries.
He will be joined back at base by Pervis Estupinan, Evan Ferguson and Solly March.
The unspecified problem is understood to be not serious.
Albion posted pictures this morning of March on the grass at their Lancing base as he continues to recover from a major knee injury.
Players who reached later stages of international tournaments will also be absent as the Seagulls take on Kashima Antlers and Tokyo Verdy.
Albion travel tonight and the trip gives a chance for new signings Mats Wieffer, Yakuba Minteh, Ibrahim Osman and Malick Yalcouye chance to shine.
