Bart Verbruggen has described his Euro 2024 experience as a dream come true.
And he has vowed to return to the big stage with Holland.
The Albion goalkeeper was left heartbroken when England beat his team 2-1 in a dramatic semi-final.
Verbruggen, who impressed in the tournament, can have some relaxation time before working with his new head coach Fabian Huerzeler and goalkeeping specialist Marco Knoop.
Verbruggen told fans via social media: “A boyhood dream came true, representing our country at a final tournament.
“I want to thank all the Oranje fans for the incredible support they showed throughout the tournament! We will be back.”
Verbruggen had a lengthy chat with his Albion skipper Lewis Dunk outside the changing room behind the scenes in Dortmund after the semi-final.
Tom McGill’s tournament adventure is also over. The back-up Albion goalkeeper was on the bench as Canada lost on penalties to Uruguay in the Copa America third-place play-off.
