Malick Yalcouye has been described as a midfielder with lots of potential after completing his move to Albion.
The 18-year-old arrives from IFK Gothenburg on a four-year deal and for a fee of £6 million.
He made his league debut in Sweden earlier this year.
Albion head coach Fabian Huerzeler said: “We are really pleased to bring Malick to the club.
“He is a talented midfielder with lots of potential to develop into a top-class player.
“He’s excited about this next stage of his career and we’re looking forward to helping him progress.”
