This is the moment Lewis Dunk appeared to spare a thought for a shattered Albion club-mate.
ITV viewers saw the Seagulls skipper break off from England celebrations seconds after the 2-1 win over Holland at Euro 2024.
He was seen heading towards Bart Verbruggen, who was lying flat out in the goalmouth with his hands over his face as his dream of a final place died.
Verbruggen enjoyed a fine tournament but was left helpless by Ollie Watkins’ unerring finish to send England to the final.
The Holland squad left their hotel in Wolfsburg this morning heading for a flight to Amsterdam.
