Glen Rea says he is glad to be back after taking a break from football.
The former Albion and Luton Town defender or midfielder has rejoined Worthing.
He had a short stint with Rebels last season before opting to take some time way, although he says he never lost his love for football.
Rea told Worthing FC TV: “I was here before for a short spell but I’m ready to go now and I’m really excited.
“I needed that little break. I’ve never lost the love for football and I’m just happy I’ve been given an opportunity again at this club.”
Rea plans to enjoy his football in the coming Vanarama National League south campaign.
He added: “Hopefully with enjoyment comes success and success is to get this club to places it has not gone before.”
That appeared a thinly-veiled reference to promotion to the fifth tier.
Rebels missed out in the promotion play-off final last season.
Greg Luer, who almost headed a late equaliser in that game, will not be around in the coming campaign.
He has opted to take a break from football and has mutually agreed with Worthing to cancel his contract.
Luer posted on social media: “The best non-league club in Sussex, nothing but love.
“Need to sort myself out mentally this season.”
Worthing kicked off their pre-season schedule when they took on Albion under-21s behind closed doors yesterday.
