Albion are ready to move on from Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – as hopes of landing the Leicester City midfielder fade.

While a deal for the 25-year-old had not been totally ruled out this evening, it was looking unlikely he would be heading to the Amex.

Albion have been keen on Dewsbury-Hall for some time and are looking to add to their midfield.

However he is now thought to be more likely to head to Chelsea.

The Stamford Bridge outfit have suddenly shown an interest in adding him to their plentiful midfield ranks, although they had not met Leicester’s asking price as of Friday afternoon.

It was unclear what that development would mean for a proposed move for Albion midfielder Jakub Moder to the King Power Stadium, although that potential transfer was linked to Dewsbury-Hall joining the Seagulls.

Leicester need to sell – or at least be able to show they are on the way to selling – by Sunday to help meet profit and sustainability targets.

Albion will be disappointed not to land Dewsbury-Hall but also well prepared to explore other options.

They have been linked with several midfielders and wide players as the summer transfer window kicks into life.

There is genuine interest in Inter Miami’s Diego Gomez, who is a friend and international team-mate of Julio Enciso.

The Seagulls are also keen on Feyenoord’s defensive midfielder Mats Wieffer.

However reports linking them with several other players are believed to be wide of the mark.

Albion like Leeds winger Crysencio Summerville but that interest has cooled, certainly at the current asking price.
