Bart Verbruggen is confident Albion will come through a summer of change stronger than ever.

The Seagulls No.1 has done his research on Fabian Huerzeler, who will succeed Roberto De Zerbi in charge.

He is impressed by the former St Pauli boss.

But he has also spoken of his faith in the long-term structures in place under chairman Tony Bloom to see them through periods of change.

Verbruggen is currently involved with Holland at Euro 2024 and will face Austria in Berlin today (5pm).

But he has looked into what club life will be like under Huerzeler.

Verbruggen said: “He was promoted to the Bundesliga with St. Pauli and he is only 31 years old.

“I looked up some footage of how St Pauli played under his leadership and it looked good.

“I think that Brighton have organised things very well.

“When a coach leaves, they bring in a successor who fits in the same vein.

“Of course, with his own identity and his own ideas, but someone who can build on what was already there.

“It is a well-run club. That was one of the reasons why I wanted to go to Brighton.

“I have studied the vision and culture of the club as a whole in advance because a coach can be temporary.

“Especially with a top coach like De Zerbi, you know that at some point he will take the next step.

“So last year I first did a lot of research into the club as a whole.

“I am confident that the new coach will take us to a higher level again.”
