Pervis Estupinan is supporting Ecuador in the USA after injury forced him out of the Copa America.
The Albion left-back was with the squad in Santa Clara, California, as they lost 2-1 to Venezuela in their opening fixture.
He will miss the start of the Premier League season due to ankle surgery.
Ecuador saw talismanic striker Enner Valencia sent off but went ahead through Jeremy Sarmiento.
Estupinan told reporters he was proud of the team and added: “We have to lift ourselves again as soon as possible.”
He joined up with the squad at their hotel ahead of the game.
Ecuador move on to play Jamaica in Las Vegas and Mexico in Glendale, Arizona, needing to finish in the top two to qualify for the quarter-finals.
Second place n the group would probably see Ecuador face Argentina in the last eight.
