Pascal Gross and Deniz Undav can prepare for knockout football at Euro 2024 – as their army of admirers in Germany grows.

Gross remained on the bench today as the hosts beat Hungary 2-0 in Stuttgart to make sure they will progress from Group A.

But Undav went on as a late substitute in the city were he starred on loan last season and his name was chanted by local fans.

Gross’s belated emergence as an international player has led to increased interest in him in his homeland.

Champions League finalists Borussia Dortmund are reportedly keen to take him back to the Bundesliga.

Stuttgart are also said to be interested in the 33-year-old after their second-place finish secured Champions League football.

However Albion will be keen to keep one of the most influential players of their seven-year stint in the Premier League.

Gross, who signed a new deal with the Seagulls two years ago when he had the chance to return home, has brushed off transfer talk while in Germany this summer.

His current deal runs until next year and Albion would look to strengthen that position.

Sources close to Stuttgart now believe the chances of Undav making his loan spell, which brought 18 goals and ten assists, more permanent have receded.

He barely touched the ball against Hungary but his popularity among local fans was clear.
