Fabian Huerzeler could bring his St Pauli goalkeeping coach to Albion.
The newly-appointed Seagulls boss is understood to be keen for Marco Knoop to follow him.
Knoop, 45, previously worked with Fenerbahce and Nordsjaelland as well as development teams at Borussia Dortmund.
He is a popular character at St Pauli and Huerzeler has spoken of his importance in developing the type of football he prefers to play from the back.
Huerzeler told St Pauli's own website in May: "Under him, our goalkeepers have taken a big step forward and thus created an important prerequisite for us to be able to successfully implement our idea of football."
Huerzeler is also believed to be keen on bringing in Jonas Scheuermann, who is currently on the staff at Augsburg, to assist him.
Scheuermann, 38, has assisted seven different head coaches in his seven years at his current club.
Albion have made it clear Andrew Crofts and goalkeeping specialist Jack Stern will be part of the new coaching team.
