Steve Clarke has stood by his decision not to start Billy Gilmour in his Scotland side which faced Germany.
But he has also dropped a big hint the Albion midfielder will be out there next time.
Scotland were hammered 5-1 by the hosts on the opening night of Euro 2024.
They now prepare to play Switzerland in Cologne on Wednesday.
Gilmour went on midway through the second half with his side 3-0 down and reduced to ten men.
Scotland boss Clarke said: “It would be difficult to leave anyone out the starting line-up.
"We couldn’t get a foothold in the game.
“I’m not too sure if it would have made any difference. But we will find out.”
Pascal Gross played the second half for a dominant German side after replacing Robert Andrich and saw a lot of the ball, with 73 touches and 65 successful passes from 67 completed.
By contrast, Gilmour had just nine touches of the ball.
