Southampton have confirmed the signing of Adam Lallana on a one-year deal.
He joins the newly-promoted Saints after parting company with Albion at the end of last season.
Lallana made it clear he wanted to keep playing and dropped a heavy hint where that might be.
Since then, Southampton have secured their top-flight return by coming through the Championship play-offs.
Lallana, who started his career at Southampton, said when he left Albion: "I have been speaking to my family throughout the year and I think the biggest influence on my decision was that my kids needed me.
"The age they are at, I think they just need me around a bit more.
"I have been quite selfish throughout my whole career, really, where they have had to kind of react to my decisions.
"I feel like it is a time in my life and my career where I need to put them first a little bit.
“It’s funny – when you get to the end of the season, you almost think, ‘I’m not sure I’m going to be able to go again’.
“But a couple of weeks without playing footy, a bit of boredom and you quickly recharge your batteries and you are ready to go again.”
