Crawley co-chairman Preston Johnson will step back from his role, the club has announced.
Johnson will be taking time away from his role with the club for personal reasons.
The American cryptocurrency investor’s duties will be picked up by fellow co-chairman Eben Smith and others around the club.
Johnson said: The last two years were the craziest of my entire life, experiencing some of the lowest lows and the highest highs.
“Thank you to those that have supported me and the club throughout this journey, I'll never forget it.
“While I will no longer be involved in day-to-day affairs, I look forward to continuing to support the club in my capacity as an owner and cheering on Scott and the squad as they work to build on our achievements next season in League One.
“Crawley Town — as a club and as a community — will always be in my heart.”
Johnson and Smith, under the umbrella of WAGMI United, purchased Crawley in April, 2022. They stated their aim is to get the club into the Premier League, with Crawley gaining promotion to League One through the play-offs this season.
The investors money comes from Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), a similar concept to cryptocurrency.
