Albion’s Igor could be heading for a return to Italy amid reports he is a target for AC Milan.

The Brazilian centre back has been linked to a move back to Serie A less than a year after first signing for Albion from Fiorentina.

Igor is reported to be a target for prospective new Milan boss Paulo Fonseca and could make the switch once he the Italian club unveils its new manager.

Italian publication La Gazzetto Dello Sport reports that Igor would be on Milan’s list to bolster their defence as they chase the Serie A crown from city rivals Inter.

Prior to signing for Albion in 2023 for an undisclosed fee, Igor plied his trade in the Italian leagues with Fiorentina and SPAL.

The defender made 33 appearances for Albion this season, often being deployed either as part of a centre back partnership or as a left back. He saw a spell on the sidelines in January after being ruled out with an Achilles injury.

He is believed to be valued at around £17 million.

How the defender will be used next season will depend on how he fits into the plans of Roberto De Zerbi’s successor and their style of play.
