Odds for former Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper to take over at Albion have tumbled after he was linked to the job.
Cooper now sits as the second favourite with bookies to take over the vacant head coach role after Roberto De Zerbi’s departure.
It comes as Graham Potter continues to be linked with the role after speculation that Kieran McKenna would take the job was quashed by his new deal with newly promoted Ipswich.
Cooper sits at 3/1 with bookies to become the next Brighton manager – but The Argus understands that suggestions that Albion are “leading the race” for the Welshman are false.
Steve Cooper led Nottingham Forest to the Premier League for the first time since 1999 in 2022 after taking over the role the year before.
He has been out of a job since the end of 2023 after being sacked by Forest and replaced with Nuno Espirito Santo.
Cooper rose to prominence as England under-17s boss where he won the World Cup with a side including Jadon Sancho, Conor Gallagher and Phil Foden.
Graham Potter remains the bookie’s pick to return to Brighton having left the club for Chelsea in 2022 before being sacked in April, 2023.
