Roberto De Zerbi has revealed why FOUR players were missing from his Albion squad at Brentford.
Ansu Fati, Valentin Barco, Adam Webster and Evan Ferguson were all surprise omissions from the matchday squad.
Ferguson has an ankle injury and Webster a muscular issue while Ansu and Barco were told to train rather than travel.
Head coach Roberto De Zerbi said: “Fati and Valentin Barco, I didn’t decide to play with them in the squad for this game.
“I wanted them to work alone to improve their physical condition.
“He (Ansu) is working very well but from him I have different expectations - but I don’t change my opinion about Ansu Fati.
“Ansu Fati is one of the best talents in the world of his age and our responsibility is to help him improve.
“To improve his performances, to improve his physical condition, to improve his mentality because to play in the Premier League you have to be stronger in mentality, stronger physically.
“Then we are ready to play with him in the first XI.
“When he shows us the right condition, I will be happy.”
