Albion could target their midweek trip to Brentford for Joao Pedro’s return.
The Brazil international has not been ruled out of playing some part in Wednesday’s game.
He is back in training after a hamstring problem but the trip to Liverpool comes too soon.
Billy Gilmour, James Milner and Julio Enciso have also been ruled out along with long-term absentees Solly March, Koaru Mitoma and Jack Hinshelwood.
Albion boss Roberto De Zerbi said today: “Joao Pedro can’t play. I don’t want to take a risk with him.
“We lost him for two months and it’s not the right moment to take the risk, especially for his career and for us.
“After Liverpool we have another nine games.
“He may be available for part of the Brentford game on Wednesday.
“He worked harder today but we will see what his condition is in the next few days.”
