Fans were out in full force to cheer on Brighton as the team set out to score five goals in a bid to stay in the Europa League.
It was almost a done deal for De Rossi who secured a 4-0 advantage over the Seagulls away last week - but when the Italians came to the city, De Zerbi's 11 put up a fight.
Danny Welbeck kicked a ball into the top right corner from the edge of the box in the 37th minute and the crowds were animated.
Brighton's supporters were behind the team for the whole 90 minutes. right to the end as the players did a tour of the stadium, applauding the crowd as they cheered back.
Nonetheless a victory for The Albion last night - although the end of their historic first season of international football.
