Roberto De Zerbi wants to see the real Albion at the Amex.

But he says his team deserve to go down in history whether they pull off a stunning comeback or not.

The Seagulls aim to wipe out a 4-0 first-leg deficit as they tackle AS Roma in the last 16 of the Europa League (8pm).

Were they to go through, they would re-write the Europa League record book and secure a scalp to stun the continent.

Albion have already pushed back boundaries by playing their first European campaign.

De Zerbi told The Argus: “I think people have to remember these players for a long time anyway.

“If we win, if we lose, our players have reached the Europa League and it was an incredible target.

“We want to play well, we want to play better, we want to play much better than in the Roma game and then we will see the result.”

Albion will again be without injured players including Joao Pedro, Kaoru Mitoma, Jack Hinshelwood, James Milner and Solly March but De Zerbi wants to see them improve on their efforts in the Olimpico.

He added: My focus is on the players and they were very sad, very frustrated after the defeat.

"I think we had the same chances to score as Roma but Roma deserved to win the game because we didn’t pay our style, we didn’t play well, we didn’t play enough to compete in that situation.

“It can be possible because we are not used to playing in such a big competition.

“What we showed is not Brighton and we are not talking about injured players.

“The players who played in Rome, I think we could play much better.

“Our focus is to play like Brighton.

“We are not a big, big team but we are not what we showed in Rome.”
