Albion returned from Rome with a narrow win over Nottingham Forest.
We asked these match-going fans for their thoughts on the 1-0 success.
Then we looked at the Roma return – and the European adventure as a whole.
What were your thoughts on Albion’s performance versus Forest?
Tim Ayling: We weren't at our best, and despite the low XG I thought Forest were going to score. And it was thanks to an outstanding save by Bart from Wood that they didn't. But who cares? We needed that win, we needed a clean sheet, and hopefully it can kick start a final push to the end of the season.
James Heasman: I felt the performance against Forest was workmanlike, but provided a much-needed win. We seemed to play fairly well for 35 minutes, and then played a bit deeper which gave Forest the initiative for a short time. It was good to have a clean sheet, though we were fortunate not to go down to ten men following Moder's challenge.
Who stood out for you from the Albion team?
Tim Ayling: Moder did well, but was lucky to stay on the pitch (as was the Forest player right before he scored the OG). It felt like a breakthrough performance from Baleba, especially after he was our best player at Fulham too. Gross was behind most creative things for us, but my man of the match went to Bart Verbruggen. Crucial saves and I think he gives the defence much more confidence.
James Heasman: Jakub Moder played fairly well other than the challenge and Bart Verbruggen also made a couple of good saves, but for me Carlos Baleba was outstanding and really deserves a longer run in the team.
What are you expecting from the second leg versus Roma in terms of match and occasion?
Tim Ayling: Well, that depends. An early goal or two and we'll see the Amex rocking. Without that, it will peter out and half the stadium will be gone on 80 minutes. Whatever happens though, what a European tour we've had. I've been fortunate enough to have gone to the games in Rome, Amsterdam and Marseille and they were all magical in their own way. It leaves us wanting more.
James Heasman: The first leg, particularly tactically, was really poor. If ever there was a game to play your experienced players it was that one, and then not to adjust at 0-2, was naive at best. However, we now have the opportunity to come back strongly and create a memorable night at The Amex. The fans and players need to be up for it, and we need to play at a high tempo from the off. An early goal would be great, and then we're back in it! Let's hope we get strong officials who clamp down on any gamesmanship.
