Roberto De Zerbi says he never doubted his players’ powers of recovery.
Albion bounced back from three successive defeats, including the 4-0 hammering at Roma, to secure three precious Premier League points.
De Zerbi’s side ground out a 1-0 success at home to Nottingham Forest thanks to Andrew Omobamidele’s own goal.
The head coach said: “I am very happy first of all for the reaction.
“I had no doubts about the human qualities of my players.
“I think we played a good game, especially in the first 35 minutes.
“After our goal we suffered thing more but we didn’t concede too many shots.
“We conceded one in the first half and two in the second half but not so clear chances to score.
“Now we have to prepare the game with Roma on Thursday.”
De Zerbi made seven changes to his starting XI from the Roma game and will look forward to the second leg.
Asked if the impossible can become possible, he said: “We have to play a serious game and when we will see.”
