It is paramount to take into consideration the circumstances surrounding the defeat.
The Seagulls have lost key starters in the final third in the form of Joao Pedro and Kaoru Mitoma.
Albion were unable to convert their chances on the night.
The comforting prospect is that this European defeat will prove to be vital experience in their pursuit of European football for next season.
