Roberto De Zerbi said he was pained to hear two Albion fans were attacked in Rome.
The incident happened on the eve of the match in the city centre.
Albion also reported objects being thrown into the away section during the game, which Roma won 4-0.
Albion boss De Zerbi said: “The news about the two English fans who were stabbed is bad.
“First if all because they are our fans and it gives me special pain because it happened in my country.
“We try to make our fans proud of us.
“If we are playing in these stadiums, it is because so far we did a good job.
“It is hard to compete at this level but no one can have any doubts about their dedication and commitment.”
