Roberto De Zerbi has called for another show of character from his Albion players.
He believes they can still compete for European football next season.
That mission starts with the visit of Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
De Zerbi looks to lift his players after the 4-0 defeat at AS Roma.
The Seagulls head coach said: “Brighton players, this is not the first time they have lost like this.
“They have always responded well.
“In the last few games we have created many chances but not scored many goals.
“The last goal was by Dunk in the 95th minute against Everton.
“That is an important fact."
Albion's only win on a post-Europa Sunday so far came after a Thursday night defeat - at home to AEK.
They went unbeaten in their five remaining Group B fixtures.
But the gloss was always taken off by dropped points three days later.
The best of those results was the 2-2 draw with Liverpool after the same result in Marseille.
But the fur Europa wins were all followed by Prem disappointments.
De Zerbi is talking in terms of getting back to Euro action next term.
He said: “I still think in the Premier League we can fight for a European place.
“It is difficult with 13, 14, 15 players, playing every three days.
“That is why we have lost so many to injury.”
Billy Gilmour returns to the sidelines as he completes his three-game ban in domestic competitions.
Valentin Barco, who is not registered in the Europa League, can return to the matchday squad.
