Francois Letexier, 34, will make a quick return to the Stadio Olimpico on Thursday.
The French referee takes charge of Albion’s game at Roma.
His five Champions League games this term include Lazio’s recent 1-0 win over Bayern Munich in the first leg of the last 16, in which he sent off France international Dayot Upamecano for a bad foul.
That was on of only two red cards shown by Letexier in 20 games in all competitions, European and domestic, so far this season.
An all-French officiating team includes Jerome Brisard as VAR.
Letexier, 34, refereed this season’s UEFA Super Cup final between Manchester City and Sevilla.
He averages a little more than three yellow cards per game in European club competition this term compared to almost five per game in domestic fixtures.
