Jakub Moder hopes a start at Wolves can set him up for a few busy weeks.

The Poland international would love to play a big part as injuries – plus Billy Gilmour’s suspension - hit the squad.

Moder was given a central midfield role at Molineux with the key quality being his ability to make runs in behind the defence.

He is more comfortable there than in the wide midfield role he was given in the third-round tie at Stoke City.

Moder said: “I started in the cup game at Stoke but this was my first start in the centre of midfield so that is positive for me personally.

“I felt good on the pitch.

“I got a lot of help from the boys and from the coaches and it was very important for me to get those minutes.

“It’s always difficult. We have a lot of injuries and it is difficult for us and also for the gaffer to manage the players.

“But it is how it is. We have to keep going and it happens in football – inuries.

“There are so many this season but we still have great quality in the team and we can do great things with this squad.

“We still have plenty of games to play and we want to make a good result in the Premier League and also in the Europa League.

“The next game is the most important.”

Gilmour remains sidelined for the trip to Fulham, for which Evan Ferguson, Tariq Lampey and Joel Veltman return to contention.

Roberto De Zerbi will give a squad update on Friday afternoon.
