Albion gave their fans something to cheer with a late goal against Everton.

But, as ever, there were a few talking points, albeit from a relatively dull game.

We asked three long-time, match-going fans for their thoughts on the 1-1 draw.

Then we turned the focus on midfield as Billy Gilmour heads for a three-game ban in domestic competition.

1. What were your thoughts on Albion’s performance versus Everton?

Tim Ayling: We started off very brightly, but nothing seemed to drop in front of goal, and as time went on both the fans and the players seemed nervous waiting for the inevitable. To get a point from where we were is a real plus. I think Everton gave us a big hand by dropping so deep despite having the extra man, but credit the boys for never giving up.

Colin Beales: It was a shame we weren't firing on all cylinders as Everton looked woeful for the majority of the first half but we just couldn't seem to get decent effort on goal, certainly ones not that weren't straight at Pickford. Thankfully after conceding, Dunky popped up for the late equaliser as we deserved a point. I wish I could say we deserved all three as, if we did, then this was a team we could have got them from.

James Heasman: I felt Brighton were well worth the win, but unfortunately we didn't always make the best decisions in the final third, and sometimes you wish we'd just shoot. As expected, Everton were direct, and really stole a point. Frustrating, but an improvement on last season!

2. Who stood out for you from the Albion team?

Tim Ayling: It was a real mixed bag. Adingra was a real livewire, though seemed a little less effective in the second half. Gilmour (until the red) and Gross played well given they were out-numbered in the middle. Dunk has to take the plaudits though - immense again.

Colin Beales: Captain fantastic Dunky for this one. You could see what it meant to him to rescue the point when he scored.

James Heasman: Van Hecke was steady throughout, and despite Dunk's goal, I think Tariq Lamptey gave us the moment of the game with his headed clearance. However, I thought Pascal Gross was outstanding, and was a comfortable man of the match for me.

3. How big a miss will Gilmour be – and who steps up in his absence?

Tim Ayling: He will be missed, but it's an opportunity for others. Maybe Baleba can get two or three games and step up. There are other options though... Lallana and Igor could both play there if needed, but I would be disappointed if Baleba doesn't get more game time.

Colin Beales: Of course losing a player who's recently been in good form will be tough, that said we still have options. Who knows maybe this is one of those moments where someone like Baleba can step-up and start to show what he's about.

James Heasman: Gilmour has had a good season, but I would think Carlos Baleba will come in. He'll give us great energy and will provide a different dynamic. Alternatively, perhaps Moder could come in, but I'm not sure whether he would be as effective.
