Roberto De Zerbi said absences are costing Albion points in the Premier League.

The head coach was also unhappy with the set-piece goal his side conceded in a 1-1 draw at home to Everton.

Albion have seen Kaoru Mitoma added to their injured list while Joao Pedro is out for at least another fortnight.

Lewis Dunk headed home in added time to secure a point after Billy Gilmour had been sent off.

Everton led through a fine Jarrad Braithwaite finish when the hosts failed to clear a free-kick.

Seagulls boss De Zerbi said: “At the end, one point is better than zero but, if you analyse the game, it is very tough to accept these results we are getting, especially at home.

“With Fulham, with Burnley, with Sheffield United, today I think.

“I think we deserved to win. We created many chances to score.

“We suffered one shot when Tariq Lamptey saved a goal.

“And then we conceded a goal at a set-piece with the second ball, the ball stays inside, the shot from the centre-back in the top corner.

“I don’t love making excuses but we are playing too many times with a lot of injured players.

“If we lose Mitoma, if we lose Ansu Fati, if we lose Julio Enciso, it’s difficult because the level of the players is not the same.

“Without Mitoma is a problem for us and we are playing too many games with too many important players.

“I think I can explain a lot of draws with this.

“We have nine draws and every draw we lost two points.”

Gilmour is facing a three-game ban in domestic competition for his second-half dismissal.
